Raptors’ RJ Barrett (shoulder) to miss rest of preseason

Toronto Raptors swingman RJ Barrett will miss the rest of the preseason with a sprained right AC joint, the team announced Tuesday.

Barrett, 24, injured his shoulder during the second quarter of a 125-98 victory against the Washington Wizards on Sunday in Montreal.

Barrett averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 33.5 minutes in 32 games (all starts) with the Raptors last season after being acquired from the New York Knicks on Dec. 30.

Drafted third overall by the Knicks in 2019, Barrett has career averages of 18.4 points, 5.4 boards and 2.9 assists in 329 games (328 starts) with New York and Toronto.

The Raptors have four preseason games remaining before opening the regular season at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 23.
